There's no denying that the East is brewing with a whole lot of talent, one of them being Bakwa Lah producer DJ Mathandos whose talents have been a part of the reason for the #bakwalahchallange crazy on social media.
Thando Madonsela is an upcoming producer from Kwa- Thema, East of Johannesburg who has been living his dream as a DJ and producer and wishes to do better in life as he reaches more of his dreams.
Mathandos has been a DJ for 4 years now. He started as a house DJ and jumped on the amapiano wave as he also learnt how to produce music. Inspired by his father who used to play music at their family gatherings and parties, Thando inherited that love for music and also learnt how music is a healer in certain aspects.
Since the drop of Major League's latest body of work, Outside, their track Bakwa Lah which features East Rands upcoming talent Mathandos alongside C4 DJs and Nvcho has been doing heavy rounds in the streets... between the charts, the music video and the TikTok challenges it sure has been a journey. Mathandos, who is the beat producer of this track, describes working with one of the biggest duo's, Major League DJs, as a great opportunity because it has granted him the to space to work with people who greatly influence the music industry and people that he looks up to which he hope will be the beginning of greater things!
Deejay Mathandos is under the management of Deadly Combo who also manage Nvcho and Diesel Denim Finalists C4 DJs. The advice to join Deadly Combo came from his industry friends Khestodeep and Kamtodakay who introduced the talent to the management team and the rest is history. Most people would assume Mathandos and Nvcho are a duo because they work so closely together however the DJ clarifies this by saying "Me and Nvcho are not a duo yet, although people see us as a due because of our beautiful work and loyalty."
Another track that he has worked on recently is Chomi by Soul Revolver featuring himself, Nvcho and Keynote.
Thando sees himself growing as a sound engineer and business man and says he's grateful for all the doors that his management team and his first official track has awarded him!
