Leago Moganedi a.k.a EeQue The Dreama is a 20 year old musician who grew up being passionate about the entertainment industry. He is not only just a rapper, but he also used to dabble in acting once upon a time. He grew up in a 'very musical family' which helped him make the conscious decision to immerse himself in the entertainment industry.
The Limpopo born musician reckons even though people label his music as 'hood', he makes music for everyone, even more so because the messages he conveys are easy to relate to. Some of EeQue's performances are documented on his YouTube page and from the videos it's easy to recognize how much the crowds he performs for enjoy his music -singing along to the lyrics with a few screams heard in the back from his lady fans, "It feels amaaaaaazing because it really shows that people do love my music. Getting love from the streets and on stage from different faces really shows that hard work does pay".
With EeQue's most recent wins at the Ekhuruleni Music Awards, he thanks Wang Film Production 's Zane Mhlanga for being the videographer to bring in the music video of the year award for ' Two by Two '. His single '
' which features Kid X also won Record of the year; Eeque tells the story of how the collaboration came about, saying, “Well I've been a fan of KiDX since 2012 , so he inspired me the minute I started listening to his music . I met him at a show in 2016 and I remember exactly the first thing he said to me was "Ekse ntwana yam , khamba' kanjan. Tell me , what exactly do you do " and In my mind I was like "this isn't happening ...".From then on he followed me on social media and in 2018 he commented on instagram picture I posted with "Let me give you a verse ntwana yam" , I knew from that moment that this had to be good so we did ‘Kgalikgali’.”
Eeque The Dreama's latest offering is his new EP titled 'New Age Mashamplan’ which he speaks of as his best body of work. “It consists of 7 tracks and I can assure anybody who is waiting on it that they will enjoy it as it has a very local flavour of Kwaito and African trap sounds . I'm more of a creator so I can wait for you to hear it”. The Kwaito/ African trap sound was set to drop today, but EeQue dropped hints on Wednesday night, that it had already dropped and was available for purchase on digital platforms through a very subtle marketing strategy, which gave am interesting twist to new release.
